The Mystery Machine that Scooby-Doo and the gang travel in is an iconic vehicle in much the same way Batman's Batmobile is. And just like the Batmobile, people have been recreating it for real world use since the first time they laid eyes it. Artist Josh Ellingson recently spotted the one seen above up for sale on Craigslist in California.
The Scooby-ized 1969 Dodge A100 van (before they came out with that minivan crap) features a near perfect paint job, replicating the classic Mystery Machine vibe to a tee. According to the listing it puts the power to the ground with 6 cylinder, 3-speed and still runs and drives good. There's even a slick “Jenkies” license plate paying homage to Velma and her classic clue-seeking catchphrase.
This beast of a novelty car is being sold in California and according to the Craigslist adthey're only asking $3,200 for it. Sure, it may be over 40 years old, but it's a freakin' Mystery Machine! Where else are you going to find one of these?
Speaking of which, have you ever seen a Mystery Machine cruising around town? I live in Michigan and only recall seeing a replica this nice one time. Hit the comments and tell us all about your Mystery Machine sightings!
